Ah happy slightly less hot Sunday! Today’s temperature has actually been almost pleasant. I went for a run and had a nice sit in the garden in a lovely breeze, and now I’m working my way through season 2 of Bridgerton. Do Sundays get any better?
Anyway, before it’s suddenly Monday again, this week I…
Undertook some personal maintenance
Honestly, I’m so low maintenance I barely wear any makeup. So, this week on Monday I had my microblading topped up, had my eyelashes infilled, and had builder gel to stop my nails flaking off.
So low maintenance.
Plus my nails are super cute, look.
I was due to have a pedicure on Friday too, but I forgot about it, so I’ll be doing that next week instead.
Got hit by the Covid bomb
Boom.
Over 4 years, then on Tuesday night Mr Gems “cold” started to come with muscles aches and I made him do a test.
Yep. It finally got him. So he was banished to the new sofa bed in the office and told to avoid breathing too much.
It was obviously excellent timing as on Thursday our kitchen was due to be ripped out. Which meant that on Wednesday I…
Emptied the kitchen
Thankfully Mr Gem had already done a few bits, but on Wednesday I had to remove the bulk of it on my own, which was very different to the plan I’d had before to supervise while Mr Gem moved all the heavy things.
It took bloody 7 hours before I finally crumbled, had a little cry and went to bed.
When I woke up in the morning Mr Gem had been unable to sleep at 1:30am and, despite being riddled with the plague had got up and finished off the last few bits, so that was a relief at least.
I then spent Thursday doing what I’d planned, which is supervising while someone else did the hard work as our kitchen fitter arrived to rip out the old kitchen and reveal the hideousness underneath.

Hid from the sun
Friday and Saturday were too hot. I spent them whinging about the weather and sat in front of an air conditioner.
Still had a poorly pug
A little update on Peppas eye ulcer. Sadly when we went back to the vet it has got bigger instead of healing. Which means more eye drops and some tablets. Poor baby.
Remembered I am not crafty
All this embroidery I’ve been enjoying must have gone to my head, as I signed up for a subscription to Cotton Clara Hoop Box. When it arrived, this time it contained a punch needle kit. I don’t know what punch needle is. I tried it. I was bad at it. I may try it again, but I have never really enjoyed, or been very good at any crafts, I don’t knit, sew or crochet for a reason.
And that, dear readers, was how this week went.
How was your week?
I think your punch needle looks very good. I think it’s supposed to look like that, it’s the centre of a flower xxx
