My name is Gemma, and in 2021, I was diagnosed with an incurable cancer called Multiple Myeloma at 41 years old.

But my story doesn't start or end there.

I've been writing since 2007. I had a successful vintage fashion blog, Retro Chick, and a fitness blog called Lipstick, Lettuce & Lycra. I played Roller Derby with the Norfolk Brawds and am a qualified Personal Trainer. After my diagnosis, I became a Level 4 Cancer Exercise Specialist, and I’m also a Wellbeing Coach.

I love to talk about “Woo Woo” and how it can help our self-care, whether it’s meditation, tarot cards, massage or crystals. I love to talk about how our bodies and minds affect each other. I love to talk about the benefits of moving your body in a way that makes you happy.

I'll talk about Cancer because, having been told, "You're awfully young for Myeloma", and I'm passionate about sharing my story and raising awareness.

But mostly, I write about living—about living life one day at a time, living in the moment, making every day an adventure and appreciating the little things. I’ll write about the Adventures I plan to have while I can and the adventures I might not have chosen because not all adventures are fun, and dealing with Cancer is definitely an adventure!

We can't change the past or control the future; all we can do is keep living.
